Career Day with Jacobsen!!

On Veteran's Day, The First Tee of Charlotte was invited to visit and enjoy a Career Day hosted and sponsored by local company, Jacobsen. Jacobsen is a golf course equipment company that supplies a wide variety of mowers and equipment in the US and all over the world. We were honored to be invited to the International Headquarters of the company for a tour of the company from Human Resources to Legal and Manufacturing.
The participants were in for a treat as we arrived and were immediately greeted by the President of the Company. We were later given a goodie bag full of snacks, souvenirs and a Jacobsen t-shirt!! The groups were then split up to tour and meet the various heads of department and tour the floor of the manufacturing facility. The participants learned about how the equipment is designed and drafted, sent to have a prototpye made, tested for possible problems, manufactured and assembled and finally sold to customers! This comprehensive tour also included an understanding how the Company works with an idea of what Human Resources is responsible for as well as the variety of Engineers, Quality Control, Marketing and Sales.
This fantastic day also included a golf put-putt championship among the teams with winners being rewarded with Target gift cards and a pizza party for lunch!!! Jacobsen outdid themselves with an amazing day of learning and FUN for The First Tee of Charlotte. We want to extend a special thank you to the leader for this project from Jacobsen, Ms. Pam Witulski. Pam worked very hard on this project and it really came full circle with a great event.
