Vincent King, executive director of The First Tee of Charlotte, described his group's efforts to teach life skills to children "and use golf to do it." "I turn down no one," he said. "The basis of the organization is to reach as many kids as we can and reach them so that they understand their potential -- whatever that potential is. I'm not the one to decide what that is. We try to teach the kids the difference between dreams and goals, and how to attain those dreams and how to attain those goals. And in doing so, we play a lot of golf, we have a lot of fun...."
