Marcus Borbor and his teacher decided that they should raise some money for the American Red Cross and for a whole week his class encouraged the entire school to bring in loose change to donate. My what a few nickels, dimes, pennies and dollars can add up to!!! By the end of the week they raised a grand total of $2,233.76 to donate to the Red Cross to benefit the Haitian relief efforts!!! Marcus now feels great for taking initiative to help and accomplishing such a great feat and now wants to continue raising money at home and give it to the Homeless of Charlotte. In his own words, Marcus stated, "...seeing people in Haiti suffering from the earthquake and then comparing myself and others in the States on how easy we have it here, I felt I needed to do something to try to make a better life for them."
The First Tee of Charlotte is so proud of Marcus and his will to give to those that need it most. We hope this serves as a model that no amount is too little to give and all the little can turn into something BIG!
