New Scholarship Program!
The First Tee of Charlotte is proud to announce a new partnership with an "Old Friend," the Golf Fore Kids/Ballantyne Country Club/Rudolph-Dadey Memorial! The kindness of this group will continue to benefit The First Tee of Charlotte as a new scholarship program is being developed. Details and information will come in the near future, but we are so excited to announce its inception!

Alexis Turner is looking forward to some BIG news this month as well as celebrating her own outstanding leadership at school.
TFTC Participant Raises Funds for Haiti!
Marcus Borbor, participant of TFTC, acted on his own heart to help the disaster relief efforts in Haiti! Marcus, an Elementary School student, teamed up with a caring teacher and loving family to raise money to support efforts to assist Haiti after the devastating earthquake just a few days ago this January.
TFTC Participants Represent Varsity Team!
The First Tee of Charlotte has some great representation at Victory Christian Center school. Four of our own have been named as middle schoolers to the Men's Varsity team and have been successful so far this season.
Participant Makes Cover for Boy Scouts!
Participant Josesph Stewart has been chosen as the "Cover Scout" for Trail's End from their Best Pix Contest. You may know Trail's End as the popcorn that is sold by the Boy Scouts. This year, Joseph will appear on Trails End Popcorn packaging. He also won a Nintendo DS-Lite from the contest!! Congratulations Joseph...can't wait to see you cover photo. Support Joseph if you can this year by purchasing popcorn from the Boy Scouts.
 
TFTC Participant - State Gymnastics Champ!
Participant Andrea Smith competed in the Gymanstics State Championships and was crowned as the STATE CHAMPION for Age 9 division on the Balance Beam!!! Along with her first place finish on Beam, she got 2nd Place on Uneven Bars, 3rd Place in All-Around Compeition and 4th on Floor Exercise!!! Congrats to Andrea and her Club at Bellafore Gymnastics.
 
TFTC participant designated TFT Scholar!
The First Tee of Charlotte participant Gilbert Williams, II has been named to The First Tee Scholars class of 2010!!! Gilbert's application was selected based on a variety of factors including his academic achievements, college admissions exam scores, and community service.

"Leaders In The Clubhouse" Dinner raise $190K
The First Tee of Charlotte celebrated its first annual "Leaders in the Clubhouse" with guest speaker, Author James Dodson. This inaugural fundraiser invited guests to learn more about the great work of The First Tee of Charlotte, their new facility at Revolution Park Golf Course, and meet three outstanding representatives of the program as they addressed the crowd with accounts of their experiences related to TFT's Nine Core Values.

The First Tee of Charlotte would like to thank the participants of the Bank of America 5th Annual Golf Tournament Benefitting The First Tee of Charlotte. Everyone braved the rain and cold for a great day of golf and support of The First Tee!

Former TFTC participant wins big!
Former Participant Devin Cherry, now attending Winston Salem State Universtity, earned big honors for his team...Cherry's stellar round, a four under par 68 on the 6,539-yard course earned him the Rams' first-ever individual medalist honors as he finished first overall in the field of 93 golfers from 18 historically black institutions.

The First Tee of Charlotte Selects its First Executive Director

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 16, 2005 – The First Tee of Charlotte named Vincent D. King to be its first executive director. In this position, Vincent will work with The First Tee Board of Directors to oversee the development of a permanent facility in Charlotte and will continue teaching The First Tee Life Skills curriculum to children.

Hole-In-One

The First Tee will email a special Hole-in-One Award Certificate to participants who have had a hole-in-one in honor of their accomplishment. Please send stories and photos to jbaugher@thefirsttee.org .

The A/B Honor Roll

Representatives at The First Tee believe in encouraging participants to excel academically. Each semester, The First Tee Chapters are asked to provide the Home Office with a list of participants who have made As and Bs.
